The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber’s Workforce Development Committee is focused on implementing quality, employer-driven workforce development initiatives and partnerships that support business success. Collaboration between the Chamber, local colleges, Coffee County Schools, and the Southern Georgia Workforce Development Board (WDB) for Workforce Development Area 18/Region 11, in alignment with business and industry demands, provides education and training programs to develop the workforce of the 21st century.
The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber’s Leadership Development Committee is the force behind Leadership Coffee, the eight-month program that introduces emerging leaders to community topics such as government, education, economic development, and all issues dealing with quality of life on a local and state level. The program is designed to help participants develop leadership skills for the workplace and the community. The committee also spearheads the Chamber’s involvement in Locate South GeorgiaLEADS, a regional leadership development initiative.
The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber’s Membership/Marketing Development Committee is dedicated to implementing services offered for members, recruiting new members, planning member appreciation events and membership. Membership marketing publications, incentives and offerings are continually reviewed to maintain relevancy in membership recruitment and retention.The Ambassador program is a vital part of the membership committee providing support of chamber programs such as ribbon cuttings, power lunches ,membership appreciation events and other networking opportunities.
The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber’s Governmental Affairs Committee is comprised of business and community leaders who meet regularly to discuss legislative and regulatory issues affecting our businesses and community, and to recommend action, when necessary, to the Chamber’s board of directors.
