Branhill Plantation

Gopher Plantation
Gopher Plantation is a hunter’s paradise. With 9,500 acres to explore, avid outdoorsmen can hunt wild boar, deer, turkeys, and more. Guests can also sharpen their shooting skills on a five stand, six trap shooting clay range.
Overnight accommodations are available in two plantation cabins that were constructed in the 1800s but now carry all the conveniences of modern amenities. In the cabins or in the lodge, guests are invited to travel back to a simpler time where it was just man and nature.

Ashley-Slater House
An Italianate mansion and local architectural treasure circa 1914, the Ashley-Slater House is home to city offices, the Douglas Visitor Information Center, and Main Street. Visitors are invited to explore the home, which features an original mural, antique furnishings, and a collection of family items including WWI memorabilia, love letters, and photos. Tours are available by appointment only.

Heritage Station Museum
Explore an exciting time of steam engines and railroads in the Heritage Station Museum. Operated by the Coffee County Historical Society, the museum is in the old Georgia and Florida Railroad Depot, originally built in 1905.
The museum features a unique collection of train memorabilia and highlights Douglas’ connection with the railroad industry. Visitors can also enjoy an array of permanent collections including military, agricultural, African-American, and local business exhibits.
The museum is available for rentals, meetings, and events. Open Thursday-Friday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

World War II Flight Training Museum
The WWII Flight Training Museum is in a barracks used by the 63rd Army Air Forces Contract Pilot School as part of the effort to quickly train pilots for World War II. The museum is part of the 63rd campus that is on the National Register of Historic Places.
Visitors can explore the barracks and other rooms containing the story of the 63rd and its training. Exhibits describe bomber and fighter aircraft flown by the pilots in the war; bailout, survival, and evasion gear; pilot, bombardier, and navigator equipment; and the roles of the Flying Tigers and Doolittle’s Raiders.
A walking tour of the 63rd campus is always available even when the Museum is closed. Museum hours are 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday-Saturday.
